Not doing that again...

On Friday Dec 4th we decided to take the kids and visit the Festival of Trees. We thought they would have great fun checking out all the Christmas decorations, seeing Santa, etc.
When we got there Audrey started not feeling well. She wanted to be held and was seeming to run a little fever. We got in line to see Santa and while there snuggled her until she went to sleep. Nathan on the other hand spent the whole time trying to climb on things, pull on things etc. We did finally get up to see Santa and Nathan was able to tell him that he wanted 'Star Wars' for Christmas.

And Audrey asleep.

Nathan was not happy that Audrey was asleep in the stroller in his spot and kept trying to wake her up. (This was probably when we should have strapped him into the front seat of the stroller instead of letting him walk). We finally started to look at some of the tree and wreaths. He kept trying to get at the animals and toys in the displays and just wasn't getting the fact that he wasn't suppose to touch them.
We saw a whole row and a half and decided to try and check something else out to distract him when he saw a cute little log cabin all set up with a TV and such inside and he crossed under the chain that was supposed to keep him out and inside before we could stop him. The nice lady that was watching over the booth went in and grabbed him out. Well that was the last straw and we decided it was time to leave.
It was really a waste of time and money for us with how it ended up and really made me upset that I wasn't able to enjoy the evening. It's been 10 years since the last time I was able to go to Festival of Trees and I had been really excited to attend. And also at the time we left Audrey was feeling better and seeming to want to check things out too.
Here are a few pics of some of what we liked of what we were able to see.

I will not be taking my kids back for a few years yet. Hopefully I will have a much more enjoyable experience the next time I'm able to go.
