Sledding...

We took Nathan and Audrey sledding on Friday afternoon. Audrey didn't actually get to sled but Nathan did. He giggled all the way down the first time. I have to say it's been quite a while since I've been sledding and it was so much fun. Chris and I want to go again, but may leave the kids home so we can stay a while longer.
Here's some pictures of the fun we had...
All pooped out after all the excitement of the day.Chris was warming up Nathan's hands after we got back...and so Nathan had to warm up Daddy's hands too.

Fun in the Snow...

The snow finally got to our house late last night and we woke up to quite a few inches this moring. When Chris went out to shovel us out, Nathan decided he wanted to go out and join him and he had a great time!
We're hoping to go sledding later today. We'll post pictures from that adventure later.

Also thanks to our nice neighbors who came over and helped Chris shovel this morning.

Merry Christmas!

We had a great Christmas day. Since the kids are still little we were able to sleep in a little and didn't get to presents until almost 9 o'clock. Nathan really enjoyed opening his presents...along with everyone else's.
Here's some pics of the kids with their favorite presents.
Nathan got Mack and Lightening from Cars...
along with Doc Hudson and Chick Hicks and played with them all day long.
Here's Audrey surrounded by some of her new things...
And her favorite toy a move and crawl ball.

And Thanks to Chris' sister Emily and her family for the warm blankets. They'll be sure to keep the kids warm during the cold snowy nights.
We spent the rest of the day playing and relaxing and had a not so tradition Christmas dinner of Spaghetti.
It was such a nice day spent together with family and enjoying each others company.
We hope everyone else had a great Christmas as well.

Christmas jammies...

We decided to start the Christmas jammies tradition in our family this year and let the kids open up 1 present Christmas eve. Nathan got some Batman jammies which he loves. (I have a feeling I'll be washing these a lot so he can wear them EVERY night for the next little while).
And Audrey got some cute purple jammies to keep her warm. Here is Nathan 'plying' in his new jammies with Chris' help.

Getting ready for Christmas...

We've been busily getting ready for Christmas...the shopping is almost done, the gifts to be made almost completed and have started to get things wrapped.
Here's a look at some of the things going on at our house.

*******

The other day when I was attempting to get pics of the kids, I looked over at Nathan and this is what I found. One of Audrey's bows! I had thought about having Audrey wear it for the pictures and changed my mind. Guess it was meant for Nathan's Christmas pictures instead.
And here's a peek at some more projects I've been working on and have completed for Christmas. There will be more to come, but since Christmas isn't here yet I don't want to spoil any surprises!
A whole load of crocheted dish clothes for friends and neighbors...
Some yummy popcorn treats that also went to some friends and neighbors...
And a little something to add to my Christmas decorations...
Although it's not done, I'm so excited how it's turning out. Last minute I decided I wanted to make something for me this year and using fabrics I already had in my stash and a pattern I found here....a pretty Christmas table runner in the making. I am hoping to have it done shortly so it'll be all done for next year. Just have to decide how to quilt it.
Here's a close up of the fabrics. These are the same fabrics I used to do our Christmas stockings a couple years ago. Everything but the black. And until we have some more Christmas fun to share....
A little elf to send you on your way :)

Christmas pics?

So I attempted to take my own pictures of the kids for Christmas this year. It was pretty easy to get pictures of Audrey, Nathan not so much. And getting both of them together, smiling and looking at the camera...didn't happen. I did get some cute pictures though. Here are some of my favorites, I just wish I could have gotten a good one of the kids together.
Guess I'll have to leave that up to the professionals.

Someone will be crawling soon....

It looks like it won't be long before Audrey's crawling. I looked over at her today to find her up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth. Time to start blocking off the house. She seems to be excited that she'll soon be getting where she wants on her own.

A new hat!

Here's a before Christmas preview of one of the projects I've been working on. We are getting closer to the time when I can share with you all that I have done that you have yet to see, I wouldn't want to spoil any Christmas surprises!

I made a cute little hat for a friends' little girl, that was white with a blue snowflake. I had made an extra snowflake in white and my friend suggested making Audrey a matching hat. I thought that was a great idea, so I did! Hopefully I'll be able to get the two girls together one of these days and take a picture with both of them and their hats.

Some Holiday fun...

As soon as we were done with Thanksgiving...and let the food settle, it was time to get out the Christmas tree! We got a new pre-lit one after Christmas this year and were very excited to get it out.
Here's a picture of Nathan "helping" Chris with the tree :)Nathan decided that he needed to wear our Christmas stockings. They ARE sock! (And yes he is just wearing his diaper, he's at the age that he'd rather run around without his pants on then with, he was also yelling "Argh" at us in his best pirate voice when I took the picture. ).Audrey just loves the Christmas tree and all the lights. She's always rolling underneath it to take a peek from below. The finished product! For some reason the star on top has fallen, gonna have to fix that.

Busy, busy, busy...

We have been SUPER busy the last couple of weeks. I decided that I had to have the living room painted before Thanksgiving so that afterwards I could put up my Christmas decorations in a fresh new living room. We had purchased the paint a couple months before we had Audrey, but never got it done. Well we did it! Yay! After almost 2 1/2 years it's been painted.

We then started the process of doing a re-fi on the house and decided the other rooms needing some freshing too. So last Tuesday we started to paint and fix up some things in the main bathroom, kitchen, the master bedroom and the master bath. (The kids rooms have already been done). Oh, and we did finish our entryway above the door. It had been in the process of being completed since we got new siding a year and a half ago. Well we got that we wanted to get completed done...almost. Still need to do a little bit of touch up painting in the kitchen, and some trim work, but it'll hopefully be done before this week is over!

Here are some before pictures (I didn't get as many as I'd planned)....
And the after...
We are so happy with the results! We feel like we are living in a whole new house! It's so nice!! There are somethings that we aren't able to get done right now, so we are still a work in progress, but it's been such an improvement! Now I get to decorate!
