9 months of...Audrey!

Audrey turned 9 months today! How time does fly, can't hardly believe it! She is getting so big and is so much fun to have around...even Nathan seems to like her...sometimes.
She's crawling, pulling her self up to standing, and babbling constantly!
She even loves her brother Nathan. Chris had put Nathan in his room the other day for doing something he wasn't supposed to, Audrey crawled to his door started crying and pounding on it. And Nathan keeps calling her "my Sweetheart". It's very cute!
We all love that little baby girl of ours!!

By the way...sorry it's such a big slide show! Too many pics to choose from :)

More Christmas?....yep!

Well I FINALLY got Christmas presents up to my sister-in-law Emily (Chris' sister) and her family.
So...that means I get to show you another project I completed last year.
I made this blanket for my youngest neice, Delila. I wanted to make it all out of stuff that I had already, but didn't have anything for the border or back. Oh well! I think it turned out really cute. I love the bug fabric paired with the cute frogs.
I also crocheted around some baby doll sized blankets and burp clothes for my other nieces, Lola and Fiona. I forgot to take some pictures (didn't realize it until after they were all wrapped up) but you can see our nieces and their dolls enjoying them here if you'd like to check them out.

Scrap happy...and then some!

So as I mentioned in my previous post, I got a LOT of fabric from my mom while I was visiting her last weekend. There's fabric for Audrey, Nathan, some for a project I can't talk about yet. And I thought I would share what I've been up to this weekend.
Here's some pictures showing all that I got from my mom, and she's gathering more to bring me the next time she visits! Gonna be busy, but it'll be fun too.
These are the jammies that I made for Nathan yesterday from the dinosaur print showing in the previous picture. They are almost done, just gotta figure out how to get the button hole maker on my sewing machine to work or pull out my old machine and do them on that. They'll be nice and light for summer.
And using some fabrics that I had sitting around, I made these two cute, flirty skirts Saturday for some little girls I know. I found the instructions in one of my quilting magazines and they are so easy, I'll definitely be making some more of these. I've got more fabric sitting around waiting to be made into skirts!
We've also had some sick kids around here. Audrey was running a fever last week, she is now being treated for an ear infection and is doing better. Nathan is currently running a fever and I'll be taking him into the dr's today to see what's up with him, probably an ear infection too.

Last weekend!

Last weekend we finally got to go visit Idaho! I took the kids and headed up Friday afternoon (Chris had to stay home and work) to grandma's house. I hadn't been up there since New Years 2008 so this was really fun, not so much the drive, but being able to see everyone. Plus my brothers and their families hadn't even met Audrey yet.
We had such a great time. Mom and I stayed up way to late Friday/Saturday night/morning, Saturday we hung around the house in the morning and then headed over to my brother Evon's for dinner and to finally do Christmas (we held onto our Christmas instead of mailing the gifts since we knew we'd be visiting at some point). Nathan and Corey had so much fun playing together and Bryce, Jessica and Kassie had fun playing with Audrey and hauling her around.
Sunday we went to church with Grandma, Evon and his family showed up too. They brought over a German Chocolate cake (yum!!) and hung out for a little bit. Then my good friend Christy came over for a couple hours and we were able to catch up with one another. Sure do miss seeing my old friends. Unfortunately I didn't get to see everyone I was hoping to, so I'll have to make for that the next time we make the trip up. After Christy left mom and I watched "27 Dresses".
Then Monday came, oh so soon...mom and I spent the morning going through her fabric stash. I now have a bunch of fabric to use in making the kids some cute summer clothes. I've already got a pair of jammies almost done for Nathan and will be moving on to some things for Audrey soon too! Thanks mom for all the fun fabric!
Here's some pictures from the trip....
Nathan got wore out waiting to go play with his cousins.
Just got done eating my lunch. Audrey showing everyone how to ride a pony. She had fun with this toy.Audrey with Grandma.
Audrey sitting with 2 of her cousins. Bryce and Jessica.
Audrey playing with grandma's big teddy bear. It's bigger then she is!
*****
And finally! I get to show you some of the projects that I worked on for Christmas.
My brother and sister in law have their kitchen decorated all in veggies, so I made them these cute hot pads.
For the younger boys, Bryce, Corey and Nathan, I made these crayon holders.
And for Kassie and Jessica, some crocheted cupcake purses.

I'm still not done getting Christmas presents to people (I know, I'm a little slow) so there will be more to post later still.

I love give-a-way's don't you? Well, here's one that I'm taking from my friend Lera's blog (plus I want to win too!) AndI love making things for others, so this will be fun for me too!!
Here's how it'll work...

The first three people to comment on this post will get something made by me! My choice--but just for you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year
4. You will have no clue what it is going to be.

A Valentine's Day Surprise...

So, Chris doesn't like Valentines Day...at all. Each year I usually spend the week before giving him a hard time to ensure that I might receive something. It doesn't have to be much, just a nice gesture. Well this year I headed up to Idaho to visit the fam and since I wasn't going to be here, didn't worry about getting anything and didn't say anything to Chris.
On Tuesday last week Chris mentioned that he'd been bored at work and had called my mom, now if he'd never told me this I wouldn't have been suspicious, but I knew he was up to something.
So Friday night after I got to Idaho, mom said she had something for me and pulled out a box with the words "PRO FLOWERS" on it. I thought, "That's nice, wonder why mom got me flowers?" I didn't realize until I opened them and saw "Happy Valentines Day, Love Chris" that Chris had sent them. What a nice surprise!
I guess Chris had mentioned to mom that I'd be mad since I hadn't gotten anything for him...little did he know! I can be just as sneaky.
When Chris called Saturday morning, I thanked him for my flowers and asked him if he wanted his Valentines gift...he laughed. I had stashed a card and a watch in the bottom drawer of his nightstand.
Chris still doesn't like Valentines Day, but I guess he's getting trained to follow his wife's wishes and get her something anyway :) And he did a great job too! Such pretty flowers!!

Denim - Done!

I am pleased to announce that I finished the denim and bandana quilt last week. Turned out pretty cute if you ask me. It will now be going in the back of the 4runner and will be ready for some summer picnics. Bring on the warm weather!
(And on to the next project.)

And as a bonus today...some cute pics of Audrey!
I caught her playing in Nathan's hamper. Guess it looked like a good place to be. She sure enjoyed it!
My smiley baby!

A Silly Boy and a Cute Girl

Here are some pictures from the last week or so. Thought I'd share some pictures of Nathan doing his "thing", he is a silly one. And show some updated pictures of Audrey, she's just so cute and is getting so big!

Chris brought home some HUGE tv boxes from work this week and taped them together and created a "house" for Nathan to play in. He loves it! He has started to not let me take his picture, so Chris had to take this one of Nathan looking out the window of the "house".
Audrey sittin' pretty on the couch.
I have a turtle that I made at Build-a-Bear years ago that Nathan has taken over. It has a removable shell and lately Nathan's wanted to wear it.
Another cute picture of Audrey.
This morning at 7am Nathan came in with the goggles from his tool set he got at Christmas and had Chris put them on him. He watched cartoons like this for a while....
Then decided to put them on the rest of the way and actually let me take some pictures...
What a silly kid he is!
(And I have to say he's a pretty cute kid too!!)
