Saturday fun...for me at least!

I'm still on a roll working on finishing up more projects. Yesterday afternoon I set up a quilt that I started years ago. I'm not sure how long it's been waiting, I know that I finished putting the top together after I moved to Utah and before I met Chris...so at least 6-8 years ago, maybe longer.
*****
The top was made from old jeans. It's funny that I can still remember some of the jeans that the denim came from. I can pick out some of mine, my sisters and some from my dad's jeans too. Kinda fun!
The back is pieced. The center and corners are a blue with cute flowers that have red bandana print centers and the side borders is a striped red bandana print. (I'll take a better pic when the quilts done. This is showing the wrong side.)
I couldn't decide if I wanted to tie it in red or blue, so I'm using both. It's looking cute.
I started tieing it yesterday afternoon and I'll probably be finishing that tonight. Then just binding left! I am really feeling good about this New Years Resolution, it is still the first month of the year so hopefully I keep going strong throughout the year. I do think this might be the easiest of my resolutions to fulfill though. I'll post pictures of the finished project in a couple days!
While I was putting the quilt up yesterday, I put Audrey in her highchair and gave her some Nilla wafers to munch on. Boy did she have a great time munching...and made a huge mess of herself too! At least she had fun!!

In 2 hours time...

On Thursday I went to a sewing group set up by our Relief Society and made 2 pairs of jammie bottoms for Nathan in only 2 hours start to finish. That included creating a pattern from an old pair of jammie bottoms. Yay! I am so excited that I did this without having a pattern to start and they turned out so cute. I even had enough of the fabric left over to make Nathan a matching pillowcase. Now time to get making jammie bottoms for the whole family.
Last night the kids enjoyed watching movies in Mom and Dad's bed. They were so cute. Audrey was having a blast rolling around. Audrey is crawling all over now. She disappeared down the hallway this morning and I found her in the bathroom. If she was bigger and could have gotten herself up, I think she probably would have climbed into the bath with Nathan. It seemed as though that's what she went there for.And finally, I got these cute pictures up on the wall. These were in my sister and my room growing up and I took them a couple years ago to decorate a baby's room one day. I never did get them hung up for Nathan, but TODAY I finally got them up!! Yay!!! I just love them. I think they are just so stinking cute...and retro, which seems to be coming back full force these days.

A little update...

There's really not been a whole going on around here...other then just the normal day to day stuff, but thought I would still post a pic or two of the kids for you all to see and let you know how we've done on the new years resolutions in the first week of the year.
*****
Nathan's been as wild and crazy as usual. He's really a fun kid. although at times drive Chris and I up the wall. Here's the "cheese" himself. (He says cheese anytime the camera is pointed in his direction).
*****
Audrey is officially crawling!!! Not a lot yet, most of it's an army crawl but she has been caught crawling on her hands and knees too. She has even made it from the middle of the living room floor to the dining room floor. Quite the feat for a 7 month old! Oh and she LOVES the bath, she about throw herself off my lap to get in while I'm getting her ready to go in. Here's my crawling water baby!

As for the New Year's Resolutions in the first week of 2009.
I was able to finish a WIP! That is pretty exciting, if I do say so myself. It's wasn't anything big, but it was something. I started crocheting around these burp clothes 4 or so months ago. I finally finished them and can now get them to my friend and her little baby.
I am hoping to get some batting this week and start to work on tying some quilts that I've had kicking around for the last couple of years. I'll let you know how that goes.

We didn't do too well with our exercising and eating better this last week. But it's a new week, so we'll be trying again!

Oh and for a bonus. Here's a picture of Nathan using Chris as a table.

P.S. Sorry, guess this was a bigger post then I thought it would be :)

Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009!

Happy New Year to all of my friends out there! I hope the everyone had a great 2008 and will be continuing that with an even better 2009.

Our 2008 was pretty exciting with lots of wonderful things taking place. To name a few:
*the addition to our family of Audrey on May 28th, such a sweet little girl
*getting back in contact with lots of friends from high school, church and work that I haven't seen in years
*completing may projects (sewing, crocheting, crafting) that have been in the works for quite a while
*Nathan making it to birthday #2 (looks like he may make it to #3 this year), he's sweet but such a handful
*completing some of the projects that we've been working on around the house

This year some of the goals that I will be working towards achieving:
*exercising more, eating better and losing weight. I am not setting an actual weigh loss goal (don't want to discourage myself) but do plan on keeping you all posted on my progress. I feel as if you are all kept in the loop of how things are going it will help keep me on track. Chris is wanting to lose 30 pounds by his birthday, so he'll be sharing in this goal.
*working on and finishing up more works in progress(WIP). I have many more of these that I didn't get done this year including- the Christmas table runner, a pumpkin/cat quilt, and a few quilts that need to be tied. And of course I'm sure I'll begin and finish some projects throughout the year as well.
*walk in the SLC Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure, I did this in 2007 but wasn't able to this year since I was so pregnant at the time, but really want to do it again this year.

So, I hope you are all looking forward to this coming year and the exciting things that it has in store for each of us.
