I'm 1 month old!!

West Fest parade

This weekend West Fest has been going on up at the park near our house. On Saturday they have a small parade that goes on right by the main street near us. Nathan, Aunt Gina and I went up to the corner to watch. Here's a few pics of the parade.
Here's a picture of Nathan playing before the parade started. He wasn't too sure about being there until the parade started and they threw out some candy. Then he liked it.
This is the start of the parade.

This is Grisbee, he's the mascot for the Utah Grizzlies Hockey Team.
This isn't a very good picture, but there are 2 helicopters in it. There were 3 helicopters that were flying over the parade route as part of the parade fun. It was really neat and they were really close.
One of the floats. It was put on by Walmart and was of course a Pirates theme. It was really well done. Nathan loves Pirates!!! He just saw me add this picture and said "Argh" to the pirates.
I didn't get a picture of the regular fire truck (I was having trouble with the camera). Here's a pic of an old truck. The driver even honked the horn when he saw Nathan. Nathan loves the firetruck too!!!
Another float.

This was the last float of the parade. I told Nathan to wave to the pretty girls. It was so cute, the girl at the front blew Nathan a kiss and without any prompting from me or his Aunt blew her a kiss back.

Nathan's recliner?

Nathan has decided to take over Audrey's car seat as his new "recliner". He spends a good part of the day dragging it around the living room and sitting in it while reading, drinking his sippy, eating and watching TV.

Sharing cars with Audrey

Here's some pictures of Nathan sharing his cars with Audrey. This is a big step for him, he doesn't usually share anything with anyone. I thought it was so cute the way he lines them up on her. He's also share his little plastic "inosaurs" (dinosaurs) with her too. We're still working on him being soft with her. He goes from giving her lots of kisses everywhere from her head to her toes to trying to hit or punch her. Oh, and he also likes to lick her and we're trying to break him of that too. He keeps pretending he's a dog and is always trying to lick someone.

Helping Grandma Johnson

Grandma Johnson was clearing out the bark from the front flower bed and Nathan decided he wanted to help. He was trying to use the big shovel and rake (unfortunately didn't get and pics of that) until I got out for him a little bucket and shovel. He had a great time shoveling and putting the bark everywhere, including the sidewalk. Nathan sure does like to help!

4 Generations

Here's a picture of 4 generations together that we took last Sunday. Great-Grandma LuDean, Grandma Jan, Chris, Nathan and Audrey. Here's a picture of 4 generations together. Great-Grandma LuDean, Grandma Jan, Chris, Nathan and Audrey.
We didn't do too well in getting Nathan to sit still.

We were able to finally get both myself and Audrey home Sunday afternoon. We had planned on leaving on Saturday and were getting everything packed and ready when we were told that my discharge had been canceled.
Friday night the nurse had noticed that I a had a pretty good sized red patch on my skin above where my incision was. The doctor on call at the hospital put my on an antibiotic and had some blood drawn to see what might be going on. Well, the blood test came back positive for an infection and what they thought it was is life threatening if found in your blood, which it was. They wanted to get me immediately on IV antibiotics and would have to stay at least overnight, possibly 3 days. This was not exactly what I had been hoping for. I was really looking forward to getting home and being able to spend time with Nathan.
So shortly after finding out I wouldn't be leaving the nurse came in to put in the IV. I really hate needles and every time have had to had blood drawn or an IV put in it usually takes them 2 or three tries. Well I had three separate nurses try to get the IV in, each of them with 2 tries before the last nurse got it in finally. OUCH!!! It was not pleasant at all. I just want to say that if I never need an IV again I will be ok with that.
Well we were lucky and after staying an extra night in the hospital and getting antibiotics all night we got a call from the doctor and found out that I only have a skin infection (the red patch, which has now gone away, thanks to the antibiotics) and not what they had feared. Yay! So we are finally home and enjoying the new little person in our family.
